Wood’s soothing palette was used to design a signature space for this orthodontist’s office, creating a spa-like experience to reduce patient stress. The soaring roof, with a soffit clad in tongue-and-groove pine, features a deep overhang to frame views to the exterior, while floor-to-ceiling windows bring natural light inside. This fluid transition—further accentuated by pine cladding that extends seamlessly to the interior ceiling—highlights the stark contrast between the angular roof and a sculptural wood wall that defines the central space. Built on a six-inch plinth, this nine-foot-tall wall is constructed using 136 layers of CNC-cut poplar plywood, assembled into sections off site. The same plywood layers were used to clad cabinetry and desks for a unified, natural aesthetic. The striking design creates a uniquely remarkable environment, turning a mundane orthodontist appointment into an unexpected retreat. 7,500 sf/Type VB construction
